13 shells. Known in Orkney as the 'Groatie buckie' these Cowrie shells are actually two different species:Trivia monacha (da Coasta) and Trivia arctica (Pulteney). Orcadians treasure hunt for these in the shell sand above a rocky shore. Trivia monacha can be distinguished by three dark brown spots on the top. Trivia arctica is typically smaller and lacking the spots.
