Snorkel Safari's with Kraken Diving

We are teaming up with Orkney dive school Kraken Diving to offer two snorkel safaris this summer. The first will take place at the Museum’s very own pier on 30 July. We’ll look at some of the historic specimens in our natural history collection and learn about Seasearch marine conservation project. Then we’ll go for a guided snorkel in dry-suits to see what we can find. When we come out the water we’ll note down which species we saw.
This is perfect for beginner snorkelers and those who want to experience Orkney’s underwater world for the first time.
The second session will take place on 20 August and will be located in Finstown in the Bay of Firth. This will allow snorkelers to experience one of Orkney’s most important underwater habitats: seagrass. We’ll find out why seagrass is so special and learn how to identify some of the animals which live amongst it.
